During a power outage, your alarm relies on battery power to maintain its operation however when the battery is old, it may not have sufficient power to run your alarm properly. Low battery power will cause your keypad to emit a warning beep which will become more frequent until the battery is replaced. The expected life-time of an alarm battery is only about 5 years and we recommend servicing your system and replacing the battery every 4 to 5 years to ensure maximum reliability and sustained operation.
