A silver lining from covid restrictions last year (& associated stimulus payments) were rates of burglary reaching lows not seen in Perth in many decades – reaching an ultimate low of 710 reported burglaries in August 2020 for the Perth metro area.
Unfortunately though this has not carried through to 2021, with the lowest recorded number of monthly burglaries for 2021 currently standing at 1,219 – 72% higher than the year prior, with rates increasing as the months roll on, headed back towards the kind of levels we had been battling with previously.
